Niko-Niko is a "Team Mood Calendar" plugin for Atlassian's JIRA® and/or GreenHopper® that allows product teams around the globe to monitor and analyze the important role that Human Behavior plays on Product Development.
The term Niko-Niko (slang in Japanese for smile or smiley) is often used to represent "mood calendar visualization" because Japan's manufacturing industry was the first to adopt this human-centric methodology as a standard daily practice.
Appfire's Niko-Niko plugin helps product teams embrace the human element by providing users with the ability to easily record, track and trend your team's "emotional tone" across each Project and/or Sprint in JIRA.

The 'Mood Calendar' gadget displays moods by day across a navigable calendar month and can be filtered by individual user, project, and project version. |
The 'Mood Trend' Gadget displays moods by date across a chart view and can be filtered by user, project and project version. |
When enabled, users will see a reminder in the lower right-hand corner of their browser which allows them to quickly set their mood for the day. This reminder only appears when a user has not yet set their mood for that day. |

 |
When enabled, Niko-Niko will allow each user to set his or her mood for a given day, but it will NOT allow any charts or gadgets to render individual end-user information. |
Niko-Niko has a single streamlined interface used to set or update your mood, making it a quick and painless activity each day. |
Users can filter Niko-Niko gadgets by Project and/or Sprint Version to see an aggregated representation of the participants' moods by date. We refer to this as the "Emotional Tone" which provides you with a snapshot of a team's mood throughout any portion of your project life-cycle. |
