Accounting Manager (North America)

Due to Appfire's exponential growth we are seeking a self-motivated accounting professional to join our team as a part-time Accounting Manager. In this highly-collaborative, team-driven environment you will be responsible for almost all of the accounting functions including A/R, A/P, G/L posting and interim financial statement preparation with special emphasis on invoicing and collections.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting functions.
- Prepare, send, track and collect customer invoice payments.
- Communicate regularly with major customers to get commitment on payment and on any past due accounts, and to resolve any problems interfering with timely payment.
- Cash management: deposit and cut checks, reconcile credit card accounts and maintain cash account balances.
- Produce interim monthly financial statements including budget to actual comparisons.
- Maintain accounting records in anticipation of EOY tax return preparation.
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following experience and attributes:
- In depth experience with common accounting procedures including trail balances, G/L posting and regular financial statement preparation.
- 5+ years of experience working with accounts receivable and collections.
- Must have experience with Quickbooks, Peachtree, AccountEdge or comparable small business software packages.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Must be self-directed and able to lead the accounting function.
- Strong analytical skills.
